Behind the scenes of the leather craft

To give you a deeper insight into the creation of a Better Belt, we sat down with our belt master Flavio.

Leather is not a fabric like any other.

It's alive, it develops character, it adapts perfectly to its wearer over time. Every belt is unique – and it's precisely this naturalness that makes every Better Belt one of a kind.

To allow you to experience this process and the attention to detail firsthand, we have decided to capture Flavio's knowledge in a video series.

Immerse yourself in the world of genuine Italian leather craftsmanship.

We live in a world of fast fashion.

One of the consequences: Over 90% of leather goods on the market are chemically tanned using chromium.
In so-called chrome tanning, the raw hide is exposed to chemical substances to make the leather more quickly usable. It's a fast, inexpensive, and industrial process.

The leather loses its typical, warm, natural scent and its authentic feel. It feels smoother, more artificial, and less "alive".
